Things to Know About Short-Term Residence Permit

The residence permit application process may vary depending on your country of citizenship.

The duration of a short-term residence permit is 1 year and this permit can be extended up to 2 years for Istanbul.

People who come to Turkey for the following reasons and purposes are entitled to obtain a Short Term Residence Permit.

- Coming to Turkey for the purpose of investing in real estate,

- Those who are making commercial investments or investment partnerships in Turkey,

- Coming to Turkey for educational purposes,

- Coming to Turkey through international student exchange programs,

- Coming to Turkey for tourism,

- Coming to Turkey with health tourism,

- Those who are required to reside in Turkey on administrative leave,

- Enrolled in courses authorized by the Ministry of National Education,

The documents required for the Short Term Residence Permit must be certified by a sworn translator and notary public.



Documents Required for Short Term Residence Permit

- First, a sealed file for the submission of all requested documents,

- For foreign nationals applying for a residence permit, a passport that is at least 60 days longer than the permit request,

- 4 biometric photographs in passport size,

- Photocopy of the pages in your passport,

- Fully comprehensive health insurance,

- Photocopy of the title deed or lease agreement,

- Photocopy of marriage certificate for married persons,

- Turkish tax number,

- If the residence permit is being extended, the current residence permit document,

- Residence card with current address record.
